The Hayle Oral History Project was a two year project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project saw us record the memories of over 60 people in the town. These fascinating stories provide a vital social history record of the town.
The project was a huge success and involved a number of community groups and schools, it saw the creation of animations by Falmouth University Students, lectures, talks, reminiscence afternoons, the creation of a book and a App which won a collections Trust award. To download the App click here.
You can assess the memories through a number of ways:
- Visiting Hayle Heritage Centre where a selection of recordings are accessible as part of permanent display.
- Requesting to listen to the recordings here at the Heritage Centre.
- Some recordings are available online via the Heritage Centre website. click here
