2016 was a great year for for Harvey’s Foundry Trust; the heritage centre had a fantastic season with over 1000 visitors, we ran hard hat days, family friendly screen printing workshops, opened up a new exhibition space, had some fantastic donations of artefacts and had some new volunteers join us.
In July we started our Phase 3 build which saw the start of the transformation of Pattern Shop and Plantation, if you have been up Foundry Lane you will see that the buildings are being transformed.
2017 looks to be an even more exciting year; in the heritage centre we are currently re-designing our main room so it will have lots more artefacts on display with more activities for children. We are also working on a number of projects including the conservation of the Biggleston collection – a collection of 1,200 papers from the late 1800’s found in the eaves of Biggleston’s when the roof was repaired 10 years ago. You will be able to see our volunteers working on the collection in the centre when it is open to the public.
We are planning a season of events and activities so please keep an eye on our new Hayle Heritage Centre website for more information.
